Apparently Milwaukee got Tilquin Pinot Gris and Chicago didn't? <_< :kickrock:

Atlanta just got some too.  My buddy Nick bought one yesterday.

It'll probably collect dust on shelves in Kentucky too. <_< Brac>gpiutfmb, tia

Richmond got a very small amount. My local spot (who currently has stacks of 3F) only got six bottles, so it was pretty scarce. I missed it.

The importer told me "check back again at the end of the month", which probably means fat chance.  <_<

In MKE I saw this odd small bottle of Berliner weisse from a TN brewery. Said something about conducting research in Germany, blah blah. $15. For a 12 oz. Berliner weisse from TN. The logo had an Erlenmeyer flask but I can't recall the brewery.

Edit: Von Seitz Theoretic Ales

Now that I looked up the brewery it looks very cool, but still not $15 for a Berliner weisse cool.

Apparently all the beer stores i've ordered from in the past don't ship to IL anymore. :hot:

I'm thinking this must be why, thanks Rauner, you were a shitty governor.

Sounds like they're distributed worldwide, by Shelton in the US, which would account for the high price. Here's a cool article about them:

Maybe Brac could get a side gig brewing with this dude :coffee:

Saw Bells Blackbeard and Vanilla Black Note but passed. $35 and $27.99 or something pretty high. VBN sounds maybe worthwhile but I don’t really care that much about vanilla and if you used 7 different exotic Tahitian varieties.

For me, generally anything that has vanilla added is a good reason to not buy.

Only lambics will I buy at those prices.  When your beer costs more than the bourbon it was aged in . . .

It's definitely steep, but that's like half the cost per ounce of the GI variants that were $24.99 each... at least that's what I told myself when I picked up Ryeway a few months ago  :bag:

Was looking for a good basic local west coast IPA, saw the Paradox Beaver Bite - 3 months past its brew date.  Nope, sorry.

  Have one bottle left from the first 12 pack.  Didn't see any at the local store when I was looking for it, hence the local slant.  Went to a different store.  Happy.  This year's Celebration is absolutely on point.

Don’t get me wrong - it’s not the world’s greatest beer or anything.  But it is a classic Christmas beer, and it’s weird to me that someone who’s been drinking better beer for as long as you have never tried it - even at a tasting or anything.

Same, $12.99 / bottle at the Crivitz Piggly-Wiggly this morning.

Spaten Oktoberfest remnants @ $9.99 / six pack and Weihenstephaner Pilsner @ $10.49 / six pack.

Hard pass on the GI BCBS.

Probably just give me the shits anyway (like nearly all Imperial Stouts do).

If I could only get to Tokyo, this shop has better beer than we do. :o :kickrock: The ambiance is basically beer coolers and blank concrete walls though.

Spent a little while looking at their selection... Alesong, Side Project, pFriem, Tilquin draft, Pizza Port, Crux, Pohjala, HOTD, Interboro, Equilibrium, Cloudwater, Cantillon, Burley Oak, BFM, Haandbrygeriet, Rare Barrel, Horus, Angry Chair, Toppling Goliath, Fair State, on and on.

From their website... hello Dolly! :D

Can you imagine a lambic made with geese? As close as we can get to the fabled cock Ale.

Oud Beersel Oude Vieux Lambiek and 3 year old Oude Vieux Lambiek boxes on Etre. I snoozed and losed, but everything came up Cantillon at BH so I don't feel too bad about it. ;)

Lost Abbey Red Poppy and Ghost something. Found this weird little shelf of BA beers near the cider/NA beers, and was stoked to see Red Poppy at first. $17 for 375mL, decided to pass.

A bunch of old beer at an obscure liquor store. Always worth looking for gems, but I passed on most of it.
