Lompoc to Release First in the Barrel Aged Series Tomorrow
Thursday, November 5th, 2009 posted by Tip Top

Lompoc Oak Aged Doppel BockLompoc has a new Barrel Aged Series starting up.  The first of these beers is Bourbon Barrel Aged Doppel Bock Lager.  This beer was brewed one year ago, in November of 2008, then transferred into bourbon barrels last January.  It sat in the barrels for nine months and then it was transferred into a conditioning tank where it rested for another 2 month.  The beer was finally bottled in October.  As is usual for the style, this beer is malt forward, with flavors of vanilla, raisins, caramel and oak.  It weighs in at 8% abv.

Barrel Aged Doppel Bock Lager will be released tomorrow from 4-9pm at Lompoc Sidebar in Portland.  There will be 22oz bottles available and the Doppel Bock will also be on tap at the party.  Although this is a limited release, it should make its way to some bottle shops as well.

Lompoc C-Sons GreetingsAlso listed as available for purchase in 22oz bottles at the party are Rosemary Stout, Flower of the Gods IPA, Bald Eagle Pale Ale, Bob's Memorial Braggot, and Fresh Hop Harvest Man Red.

Although it isn't listed as available at the party, bottles of C-Sons Greetings should start showing up in bottle shops soon as well.  It is an Imperial Pale Ale weighing in at about 8% and packed with hops.
