Anticipation is a motherfucker. It's one of those things that, as you get older, comes less frequently. It's really hard for me to get that "kid at christmas" feeling, but last night/this morning is one of those rare times where I couldn't sleep because I was boiling over with excitement.
I love to fish. I've posted my catches in the Fishing thread and thrown out a couple videos of my good buddy Adam reeling in a 25 lb salmon. Today, Adam and I are heading to Bamfield on Vancouver Island for an ocean fishing trip that has been a year in the making. I haven't been to Vancouver Island since '99 when I went to visit my sister in college. It's been way too long, so I'm super excited to get out there and catch some chinook, coho, sockeye, halibut, and cod.
So at 8 am this morning I'll start my 5 hour drive to Horseshoe Bay, jump on a ferry for 3 hours and cross the Straight of Georgia to Nanaimo, an hour to Port Alberni and then take a gravel road for 50 miles into Bamfield. It's an adventure, "but only for those with true grit, and we are chock full of that, man."
