Style: Sahti
Style Information
Sahti has one of the longest histories in the beer world. It has a history going back at least 500 years in Europe. The defining characteristic of the style is the use of juniper twigs and berries in the brewing process. In general, the liquid is not boiled after the steeping process, which creates a quite full-bodied drink. Traditionally, the use of hops was minimal or non-existent. This leaves a somewhat tart mouthfeel. ABV is usually in the range of 6% to 10%.
