| The English Dark Mild Ale uses darker roasted malts and is less hopped than bitters and other sessions beers. There are often other notes of chocolate, nuts and roasted smells and tastes. The color should be dark copper to dark brown. The aroma should be dominated by malts, with roasted tones and caramel, chocolate and other medium to strong smells. The taste follows the aroma, with roasted malts, caramel, chocolate and toasted flavors. Hop aroma and taste should be very limited. The feel should be medium bodied. ABV should range from 3.2% to 4%. IBUs should be low, ranging from 10 to 24. |
