Style Information |
The American Macro Lager is the style that most of us knew before adopting the "microbeer world". It is the style that our parents adopted. And it is the style that is still dominant and popular today, hence the term "macro". The style is light in color, aroma, taste and feel. Carbonation is also highly notable. Aroma should be muted, but might have a slightly sweet grain smell. Taste should be equally muted, again with a slightly sweet grain flavor. Corn, rice or other grains are often used in the style. Hop bitterness is almost non-existent. Average ABV is around 3% to 5%. IBUs are equally low in the area of 5 to 20. |
