Style: American Double / Imperial Porter
Style Information
American Imperial Porters should have a very dark brown to black color. The mouthfeel should be full-bodied. Roasted or burnt grain characters should not overwhelm the overall malt backbone. The malt characteristics should contain caramel, bitter chocolate sweetness or other grain notes. Hop presence should be in the medium range in both aroma and bitterness. Dark fruits may be evident but should not be prominent. ABV should be in the 7% to 9% range. IBUs should be in the 35-50 range.
