12iz can. Canned in 10 Sept 2019. So less than 2 months old. Poured into a traditional goblet glass (this particular one is the original Blvd Smokestack goblet). Clear golden color with a small but firm head. This can came in a 15-pack mixed box. I remember when this beer was a speciality bottle. Nice to see it more easily and cheaply available. Over the years I’ve tried this numerous times and never been a real big fan. It seems to be pretty conisistent over the years. My biggest issue is that this is advertised as a Brett beer on the label. And this is supposed to be the Golden Monkey. I taste none of the original beer and definitely no Brett. I’ve always tasted a very tart and lemony beer. It really makes it easy to drink an 9.5 beer bc all the heft and esters of a Belgian are missing. In the flip aide the lemon tartness overwhelms my palate and becomes a chore to finish. It’s just a very sharp lemon aftertaste. I wish they just took the original and added Brett. Or take this and blend with the original, maybe 50/50. I mean, I keep drinking it over the years but usual as a last resort hoping it’s differnt. In this case, this mix pack was a good option for a party.
