Pours a hazy, yet vibrant golden amber color. Thin, 1/2 finger of creme white head, with little retention. Settles to a spotty cap, leaving impressive stringy lacing.

Citrus all over the aroma. Orange zest and tangerine - big time. Nice sweet malts. Some sugary like spices going on here - ginger, perhaps hints at... nutmeg? Even somewhat biscuity... It all comes together nicely. Very enticing aroma.

Taste is very grapefruit forward, along with a very strong orange zest taste. Somewhat grassy. Strong malty backbone, fairly sweet. Fairly resiny... this really isn't as "big" as I was hoping for.

Medium in body, brash, tongue scrubbing dry mouthfeel. Carbonation is great. Some boozyness - it actually hides quite well, but there is that certain warmth to it. However, I have had some IPAs that have a better mouthfeel for the style than this one. Just doesn't drip with oil and resin.

I like Dreadnaught. I was hoping for something bigger, but all the same, it most certainly didn't let me down. I would go as far as to say... a touch off in all catagorise, at least for my tastes.
Still, highly enjoyable, a good sipper - actually, almost too easy to drink - for the style.
