Binny's Orland

As soon as I popped this open I could immediately smell grapefruit. Poured into a snifter a hazy orange/amber. Big bright orange highlights when held to the light. With a big creamy head on top that lasts. Moderate sticky lacing throughout the entire glass.

The smell is unbelievable. It's loaded with big juicy citrus hops. Sugared grapefruit along with a sprinkling of orange juice that smells like it was freshly squeezed. There is tropical fruit as well. Mango...all kinds of deliciousness. There is a touch of pine in the nose too. I sit here smelling this and my mouth just waters uncontrollably. Exceptional!

I almost expected to be let down when I drank this because of all the high praise. I'm not let down one bit and I now understand why this is praised as much as it is. There's a ton of the citrus in the taste that's in the aroma. As I drink this my mouth actually waters after the swallow. A smooth bitterness but by no means overwhelming. Amazing!

I find it difficult giving 5's like this but I try and find faults in Dreadnaught but I have a very hard time doing so. It's medium bodied but coating. Balanced. The alcohol is non-existent in the mouthfeel. Unbelievable!

The drinkability for a beer of this size is downright sick. This my sound cliche but Dreadnaught is very dangerously drinkable. Every sip makes your mouth need another immediately afterwards. Dangerous!

I hate giving so many 5's cause it would mean this beer is almost impossible to improve upon. To tell you the truth it would be almost impossible to improve on. I can't picture a IIPA being any better than this. I haven't tried them all but I've had quite a few and this is at the top of the list. Wow!
