Thanks to grub for the opportunity to try some Canadian craft beers!

Pours a golden color hinting on amber with a good inch and a half of egg shell colored foam. Very good retention and a bit of lacing too, nice looking beer.

The malt aroma is pretty interesting, there is caramel but also very nutty with hints of butterscotch and some earthiness. A touch of hops, earthy again, and hints of spice. If it had just a touch more hops it would have been even better in my opinion. The aroma is quite good.

Taste is more toasted with the nuttiness following after that and then a balancing hop bitterness with a touch of earth in the finish. There’s some hidden spiciness and frutiness that could be from the yeast in the mid-palate too. Well balanced, flavorful, pale ale. Would be an easy one to session.

No off flavors in the finish and very clean and refreshing. Thin at first but the carbonation in the finish kicks it up a notch.

5.0% alc./vol.
