A - Normal pour produces a huge head of light brown foam, sort of the color of toasted marshmallow. It's made up of bubbles of all sort of sizes, but shows surprising staying power. Body is hazelnut brown, clean and clear.

S - Fruity for a porter, I am getting a lot of ripe red fruits here. Cherries and dates, even some raisins. Light cocoa. Ever so slight coffee aroma.

T - Much like the aroma, this is much more fruity than your run of the mill porter. Perhaps the barrel aging of some of it has a bit to do with it. Dates, plums, cherries and raisins are all at play here. There is an ever so slight tartness lying in the back here, really playing off of the fruit. Grapes are coming in here too. While all these fruit flavors are dancing around, I am getting a light hit of cocoa and a touch of day old coffee bitterness.

M - Medium bodied. Although this thing produces a monster head, the carbonation is spot on. Fizzy, but still soft.

Overall - This is a nice twist on the style, with the wine barrels definitely playing a big part in rounding out the flavor. This is hugely drinkable. Very much recommended.
