Perfect just-off-white head, creamy, atop a pillar of red copper liquid. Pour it from two feet away and the aroma shrieks at you - apricot and grapefruit, yes, but a beautifully toasty faintly caramel malt underneath it all.

Starts with a vast bitter juiciness upside the tongue, grapefruit, hints of apricot and leafy, coarse hop atop a toasty, faintly dry-caramel, perhaps a tetch of autumn leaf maltiness. The bitterness just cruises through your mouth, gripping the sides of the tongue like a kid grips his saucer going down a steep hill for the first time. Aromatic as hell. Very slightly palate-numbing. Beautifully not-quite-chewy, not quite sticky mouthfeel.

I flat out love this beer. When I want a foot to the floor American IPA to satisfy my hop jones without sending me into happy land uber-quickly, this is the pull.
