Many thanks go out to metallitone1 for giving me a can of this beer as an extra.
Served into my Duvel tulip glass.
Cynic pours a golden, dried apricot color with two fingers of foam. Large bubbles form around the edge of the glass.
Aroma is very yeasty, and also peppery. Some apricot and sweet aromas come through after the spiciness. Some hop, pine aromas round it out. Good malt presence as well.
Malt sweetness upfront with the spice and yeast flavors in the finish. There is also some bitterness on the tongue at the end, very interested to have on a saison.
Mouthfeel is very good, the beer has a good dose of carbonation and it is easily a beer one could drink all day.
IPA meets Saison, and it’s a good marriage.
