Pours a deep dark black with a small bit of deep brown foam. The foam settles quickly and leaves just a ring around the edge of the glass and no real sign of lacing.

Plenty of smooth roasted malt up front with notes of milk chocolate and cocoa. Hint of coffee and a bit of burnt malt bitterness. Very light caramel. Just a touch of hazelnut.

Smooth and fairly silky roasted malt is abundant. Milk chocolate comes in nicely behind roasted notes and there's a bit of cocoa too. Low carbonation with fairly fine bubbles although not prickly. Aftertaste notes comes through nice with coffee, very light hazelnut, and more chocolate.

No sign of alcohol aromas or flavors. Some time has done nice things here. Glad I have a couple more bottles. Makes me interested in checking out one of the bottles of 2007 I have around too.
