Pours a beautiful, lightly viscous looking pitch black, accompanied by a thick, pillowy, cream/coffee colored head-with excellent retention and sticky cling-to-the-glass lacing.

Aromas of toasted/burnt malts, dark chocolate, coffee and sweet- as in molasses and licorice. Just plain excellent.

Taste is strongly of dark bitter coffee and chocolate-perhaps some dark fruit in there as well. A certain degree of charred wood smoke to it also. Dry throughout (but not chalky), and a bit more bitter towards/thru the finish. Excellent balance.

This is a smoooth drinker. Medium/almost full body. Smooth, creamy, sticky... this is all of these and more. Excellent carbonation.

This one really go me into RIS' some time ago, and has remained one of my all time faves. The alcohol is well melded into this offering, and lends itself well in the finishing warmth-the ABV will sneak up on you. An easy drinker non the less, I always find myself disappointed when the bottle is gone... Thank You Stone!!
A Classic Must Try!!!
