2007 release, poured into my nonic glass.

Aroma of toasted pumpernickel, deep dark fruitiness, and slight roastiness. No light is getting through this one. Don't ask, just use it as a welder's helmet.

Starts with a dark, licoricelike ride into maltiness - all kinds of treacle, uber-ripe figs... beautiful. The roastiness remains there thoughout but restrained. Dark flavors I don't know but love are all over the place. Bitterness is there in the background, hops maybe left some Sanskrit on the walls but have long since departed. Finishes with an amazingly dark, roasty, sweet yet fresh flavor. Love this brew. Chewy as hell but never overbearing or cloying.

In my top 3 impy stouts and it isn't moving out of there anytime soon.
