Pours an inky, light denying black. A finely bubbled, thick, mocha colored two finger head appears at the end of the pour- excellent retention. Not much in the form of lacing clinging to the glass, but none the less, there is some.

Aroma... well, dark chocolate. Hints of molasses, vanilla and a touch of dark fruity-ness... figs. HERSHEY SYRUP.

Taste, again, is of dark/bitter chocolate-with a bit of sweet cocoa is intertwined. Yes, Hersheys Syrup. Sweet and somewhat bitter, and both these characteristics carry through fully into the finish-which itself just lingers and lingers. Make no mistake, this is ALL about the chocolate... The ABV of this lends such a balancing warmth- which I do like.

Medium in body. Smooth, oily, a bit sticky, almost creamy in mouthfeel... yet thin-ish. Good carbonation-subtle.

An average chocolate stout. The overly sweet, Hersheys chocolate syrup taste is too much. An excellent dessert offering.
This is by no means a complex Imperial Stout... just, very average.
Try it.
