Beautiful light amber pour with a very effervescent head of large bubbles. The one finger head dissipates quickly to a very fine ring.
Wonderful aroma of Belgian spices which is reminiscent of the Southampton Grand Cru. Also present are some light hops and dates or figs.
Smooth and very easy to drink, this beer is perfect for a crisp but not too cold evening. The taste is light, and doesn't perfectly follow the nose. It also has a lingering bitterness that doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of its features. It is very bubbly and prickles the tongue a bit too much.
Overall, it has a lot going for it and I'll be the first to admit that this is meant to be drank fresh and not six months after its spring release. It has held up well, but I would like the opportunity to try it fresh to compare and contrast.
