Old Review
12 oz bottle I picked up as a sixer here at the Grub Mart down the road. Sierra Nevada sixers seem to have dropped in price around here to about 7.99. Much more affordable than in the past. Served up in a weizen glass.

A: This pours out a very light orange in color, much closer to a yellow than an orange but its orange . . . I think. Has just a touch of haze to it but you can easily see through it. Carbonation is pretty active and decently fast on motion. The pour got me about two fingers of crisp white foam. Sadly, it falters pretty quickly to a long lasting white top cap which is thin. Doesn't really toss up too much lace, but enough.

S: The nose is subtle, but very nice indeed. Very light wheat presence that just brings out that earthiness and slight sweetness just enough. Behind that you get some of that hefe banana one would expect. Slight clove and bubble gum aroma coming out. German malts are noticeable but really just act as a support frame for the previously mentioned aromas. Very nice.

T: Not bad in the least. Very nice wheaty start, lightly sweet and earthy. Not overly big but enough to keep you interested. Banana is probably the biggest flavor in here, and it is quite nice. Fresh and ripe banana is never a problem for me in a hefe. Light citrus presence, nice clove, and a touch of sweet bubble gum in here. This is a touch on the sweeter side than I am used to, but its not a crazy candied sweet. Nice.

M: Light side of medium in the feel here. Not too heavy, but enough to let you know this beer is no light bitch. Just enough weight to here. Carbonation is good and crisp. Touch sweet on the palate but nothing near the area of cloying or too much. ABV doesn't play a factor really at all. Aftertaste is some nice bubble gum and banana.

D: Oh so crisp and refreshing. This is what I look for in a hefe. If it isn't refreshing, WTF is the point? Hefes are supposed to be light and refreshing with a good amount of flavor. This beer has all of that. Sure it could be beefed up a bit more, but an easily accessible session brew is always nice. I can see myself picking up sixers of this for a while if it sticks around. God willing.
