12 oz bottle picked up at Hop City for $9.99 a four pack. Served up in a shaped pint.

A: Hits the a really nice copper body with a good red hues to it. Held to the light, more copper/orange hues push through a brighten things up. The body is incredibly clear with a substantial carbonation activity going on in there. The pour got me two fingers bright white head that eventually fell to about a solid half finger top cap of dense/fluffy white head. Lace has stick and spots the glass all the way down.

S: Very nice here. Starts off with just a really good and clean grapefruit flavor. Just juicy as all get out, throws in a little orange. Behind that is a touch of pine resin and some lightly sweet, bicuity malt presence. Just bright with all that citrus hop fruitiness.

T: Things are decent here but it takes a turn from the nose. Really hits you with a pungent, resinous pine. It is big and a bit on the harsh side. This is further accentuated by a boozy sweetness coming out of the malts. The booze is so strong at times, it has a bit of a chemical, nail polish like flavor. Just a big punch of aggressive flavor. Behind all of that, the citrus hops bring some flavor but it is mostly orange and grapefruit peel bitterness. It is good, but damn it can be aggressive and a bit harsh.

M: Medium mouthfeel with a medium carbonation to it. Lots of bitterness on the taste buds. Tries to dry out, but there is some stickiness to this beer on the palate. ABV does bring some heat, and warms up the throat and belly. Aftertaste is all resiny hops.

OA: This is a big ass DIPA, that really brings the hops. I mean just tons of hop bitterness that attacks the palate. At times, it is a bit much but that has to be considered when you are dealing with a beer hopped with whole cone. This thing pulls no punches whatsoever and I can respect that coming from a big brewery like Sierra Nevada. Good stuff, but definitely doesn't check the excessively drinkable box.
