I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this beer, a wet hopped brown ale? Yes please.
The color is a medium/dark brown, hints of deep garnet accent it towards the bottom of the pint where some light breaks through. A decent head on this one, about a good finger deep, that leaves quite a trail as it dissipates.
The nose is almost entirely sweet, citrus and floral hops. I let it sit, impatiently, for a few more minutes before taking another whiff and finally a bit of chocolate and roasted malts come through, but still the hops dominate. A good sign for me.
Dangerously drinkable for 6.7% :-) The body is spot on, not too heavy or thick but not thin or overly carbed either. The hops hit first, grapefruit and smooth florals, a touch of sweetness, and then a nice moderately roasted finish. The malts come out even more as it warms up in my hands, but these pints are not afforded that opportunity too long. 3 down and I'm satisfied for the night, but will definitely be back to get more before it is gone. Great job guys!
