First, thanks to Tim for helping me out with yet another great beer, this is now the 2nd year in a row that you have helped me out with a beer I wanted, or decided, to drink for my birthday, so thanks!

So, for my b-day I decided to drink this beer. Here we go…

Popped the cork and a rush of bubbles raced to the neck of the bottle. Poured an orange glow with some fiery red highlights. About a half inch of foam amassed and quickly settled to a ring. Fairly good retention, and a swirl brings back some life back to the beer which I always appreciate.

Lovey. Sour and tart fuits, green apples, grapes, sea salt, peaches, apricots, sour cherries. I can see some Supplication in the mix. A bit of wood and oak tannins, vanilla, and some sweet pale malt in the background. A little cheesy. Lots of lemon and some pear. I really like the smell of this beer, simply mouthwatering. Some brett, sweat, and funk. Some toasted and caramel malt begins to shine through as it warms up. Pineapple and cantaloupe too.

Sour cherries, lemon, and oak at first. Second sip tasted a lot fruitier with green apples, pineapple, white grapes, and pears. There’s also a wave of bitter and sour orange, grapefruit, and tangerine. High level of acidicy but pretty tamed with the vinegar which is a plus for me. At first it has a chalky feel on the tongue but nothing too distracting. Lemony and sour fruit in the aftertaste. Maybe just a tad more vinegar in the finish as the beer warms up, more cherry too. I slightly prefer the taste of this one at cellar temp, rather than room temp.

Excellent mouthfeel…effervescent, high dryness level, and refreshing.

Great beer overall…pretty much lived up to my expectations.
