I've had this many times over the past few years.
This is a bottle from my cellar:
Year: 2005,
Bottle # 12,532

Served at room temp. Poured into my tulip glass.

Appearance is good. Poured out a dark purple color with a thin layer of almond-colored foam that stays through-out the drinking session. Yeast get comfortable in the bottom of the glass.

Smell is very good. A lot going on here. So many dark fruits (plums, dark raisins, black cherries) in the nose. Malty goodness shines through. Alcohol makes itself known, as well.

Taste is very good. Remember the dark fruits? They're in the flavor too but much more pronounced. No cloying sweetness either; the aging has mellowed out the taste but in a better way. Excellent.

Mouthfeel is very good. Creamy and smooth in the mouth. Aging has done this beer well.

Drinkability is exceptional. Before i knew what happened, the glass was empty. How can a beer with 12% be this smooth and have so much flavor at the same time? Dangerous.

Overall:
Such a delicious brew. Perfect dessert beer after a beefy meal. Good when fresh, better when aged. Store some away for better drinking down the road.
