Picked up a bottle of this today at SouthBay Drugs and Liquor.

Pours a clear, rich, and dark caramel color with a thick inch and a half of foam. Lacing is minimal but the retention is very good.

Sweet nuts and caramel, cocoa, bread crumbs, toast, piloncillo, cajeta, and quite bready on the nose. There's a nice mixture of light chocolate and caramel. At first I felt the caramel might be overdone but once the beer settles and the head falls down the caramel sweetness becomes more subtle.

Light toast with a bit of bread crumbs, hints of cocoa in the background along with some nuts and a touch of caramel. Clean lager finish. Slight earthy hop bitterness, just enough to balance out the sweetness. Slightly grainy later on. After a couple of sips the flavors really blend in well and it's a symphony of toast, soft chocolate, caramel, and toffee. I think it's pretty solid for the style.

The beer itself is medium bodied with low carbonation, a bit like liquid bread. Super easy to drink and very refreshing.

Ah, I love tasty and well crafted lagers on a hot day!
