A solid pour into my 25cl tulip glass produces a fat-three-finger thick, lightly tan colored head. The beer is a deep gold color that shows a brilliantly clear, bright gold color when held up to the light. The aroma smells of grassy grain, a touch of sweet corn, some light lemon notes and an herbal floral finish. This is simple, fairly clean, but could use a touch more hop character and even a touch more malt; it seems a bit lackluster when compared to the best of the category, but it is still pretty decent smelling.

The beer is nice and crisp tasting and does have a touch of clean grain sweetness to it. The beer finishes with some herbal hop notes and a touch of a biting bitterness that helps to balance the up front, light sweetness. The carbonation provides a touch of a peppery bite; this doesn’t keep the beer from having a certain buttery texture though. There seems to be a bit of sweet corn flavor here (a touch of DMS), that doesn’t detract too much. Some soft lemon notes from the hops are noticeable underneath the more prominent grassy / herbal hop notes.

Not bad, but somehow seems a bit discordant some how. This doesn’t have any serious flaws to it, but somehow just doesn’t seem to work for me (and I can really dig a solid Pils). The hop character here is nice, I just wish it was a little more pronounced than it is; this seems a bit too malty for a Pils. Still this is not a bad beer and is even enjoyable.
