This is an awful beer – pours from a 12oz. can a reddish color with very little head. The initial nose is a bit off putting as it smells like mustard greens or broccoli cooking – assuming this is some rye malt that might have been overdone a bit or maybe the Summit hops? The initial taste is of a lot of hops, but again, a mustard taste as well – almost like that bright yellow Chinese mustard that almost takes your breath away (I can see it now – the marketing people at Oskar Blues will quote this and say “one reviewer says this beer takes his breath away)… I’m assuming this is the Summit hops – they use the Summit exclusively, I think. Oddly, that taste remains all the way through the beer – and the beer is certainly not malty – but it’s also not that hoppy – and while the alcohol is 10%, you really can’t taste it. Honestly, the beer tastes horrible. Like the mash left over from corn whiskey. I really don’t know how to rate, or what to say about, this beer except it’s extremely disappointing from Oskar Blues.

Price: $4.00 Served In: Pint Glass
