Smeared, dull, darkish orangey color with a magnificently large capping of slightly yellowed spongy, pocketed foam. The top sits forever and a day while encompassing the edge with a large blanketing of thick splotchy lacing.

Soft pleasing dark and rich aroma of slightly dried caramel malt, candish to a point, with a pinch of dried floral hoppiness, pine dust, and some dark fruity oils.

Nice well-rounded tone, flavor, and profile for a Dbl. IPA. Actually this is quite yummy with a good portion of medium fronted caramel candyness wrapped in a whirlwind of light dryishness, mild toasted grain, dark fruity raisin skin touches, and some floral hints and plenty of oily hoppynessa and pine hints with a titch of citrus-like pithy bitterenss to finish it off.

Feel is quite smooth, rich, creamy, oily, with just the right kind of buzz of dryness and bitterness flying about within the malty realm of ggodness. A soaking enrichment of caramel and slightly toasted malt fills the palate while the hops add some attractive qualities of dark flowery oils and citric pithy dryness.

A pleasantly unique and damn fine Dbl. IPA here. Nothing overwhemling here and at 8.7% makes it low on the scale of ABV for a beer that tastes as big as this.
