A generous pour reveals an un-earthly black and viscous porter.... wow. Two fingers of fluffy, milk chocolate colored head snaps to it's peak, and begins an immediate retreat. Beautiful strands of lacing caress the perimeter of the glass.

Wow... again. The aroma is mind blowing. I have nose quaffed RIS' that couldn't hold a candle to this. Huge amounts of perfectly roasted malts - bitter and smoky. What really gets my nipples hard is the sweetness of this... licorice, brown sugar, toffee and sweet chocolate. Some prune and strong notes of fig. Throw some bitter black coffee into this... utterly amazing.

I think I have a new favorite beer. Everything I had hopes for when I first inhaled this sweet nectar has come true... More of a wood smokey-ness to the taste... which I completely dig. Everything else follows the nose almost exactly. Not as sweet as the aroma leads it to be, but the bitterness is there - and in a most excellent way. The finish is the best part - everything just floats on the tongue, reminding you of what a truly phenomenal experience your senses are enjoying... Sweet Baby Jesus... take me home.

Full in body, smoooth, creamy, sticky mouthfeel. Carbonation is spot on. Big boozy nature to this one... I love it. Warm and inviting.

A Porter??!! This thing has everything I would look for in a monster RIS! Big and ballsy, tasty, and what a fantastic sipper! Complex and balanced... this Porter makes my head swim every time I take a sip. Just such a well made beer... A Porter??!!! Doesn't taste like any porter I have ever had, reminds me more of Ten FIDY then anything else - and just as good!
