Moylander Double IPA pours a dirty orange with a slight chill haze. A dense 2 finger head appeared on the pour that slowly fell and left sheet lacing down the glass after each sip. The head never fell to less than 1 finger. Good looking beer.

There is definately a solid caramel backbone but that's way in the back. What really stands out is the big juicy resiny hops. There's a bitter grapefruit rind citrus aroma shining through occasionally but it always leads back to the resiny hops. Excellent.

Not a great deal of malt in the flavor but in this case it's just right. This beer is a hop bomb. Resiny hop bitterness hits mid palate and coats the tongue with a tastebud stomping bitterness. There is some malt, in the form of caramel, that kickes things off but the hops quickly take over. Good tongue numbing bitterness on the swallow as the hops get more bitter and resinous. My kind of IIPA.

Medium bodied with a mildly prickly carbonation that awakens the tongue for the ass kicking it's about to recieve. Bitterness throughout that lingers. Good body for the abv. Not sticky like others tend to be.

Easily drinkable for a big brew. The hops will wreck the tongue though so drinking more than one at a time seems like a waste to me cause you wont get the tongue lashing.

My first beer from Moylan's and won't be my last. I'm anxious to try the others. Now if I can only figure out how to get my hands on some more.
