Clear dark rusty mahogany color with a slim firm capping of dark ivory foam. Super skinny lacing in lightning strings fling across the glass.

Aroma is clean with a deep malpley roasted sweet maltyness lapped over with a slender bite of orangish hoppy oilyness. Caramel, dark toffee, vanilla, and fig boost some nice malty notings amounst bigger wiffs. Alcoholic malty barleywine-esk warmth also stands out after its been sitting.

Taste is firmly smooth of dark, but softened sweetness of molasses, caramel, toffee, and maple with nice nuances to some cocoa and vanilla. Semi chewy, malt girthed overall with a delicate slip into a hoppy orange oiled bath of cirus bitterness just after the start once the malts reside for a nitch. The malt body regains another late burst of deep dark tangyness and fades gradually with maple and warming with a slight fig enfused rummyness. Much like a toned down English Barleywine is what I keep thinking as I continue to sip.

The body is a smooth faction of malty goodness flared with a finer complexity of tones that gradually change with peaks and valleys. I quite liked its character as its balance is quite the trick with where the malts hide the hops just enough to say hi and leave an iompression while still maintaining its complex malty smooth tone.

Another solid brew by Lagunitas, similar to a few others I've encountered by them and quite likeable by me even if they seem to keep within the same flavor profile. This is a solid Strong ale that has some nice malty complexity and Barleywine-like features that make for a bomber full of goodness and decent drinkablitiy.
