22oz. Bomber
Binny's Willowbrook

Cappuccino Stout poured a deep dark mahogany. As close to black as you can get. Completely opaque. Glows with mahogany highlights when held to the light. A 1 finger creamy head appeared on the pour and faded to a creamy tan cap.

Smell is pretty complex. There's a bitter chocolate character that's followed by currants and some dark fruit. Maybe bing cherries make up my mind. Bringing up the rear is strong black coffee but it's mild. Along with a sprinkling of booze.

I like the taste on this one quite a bit. It seems like I'm getting different flavors with each sip. The first sip will be deeply toasted grains with a healthy dose of brown sugar. This is followed by a slight nuttiness, a sprinkling of the dark fruit, and then the bitterness of the coffee. The next sip has those same components in the same order but alcohol vapors show up about mid-palate and follow through to the finish. It changes the whole complexity. This just keeps flip-flopping. Very nice.

I really like the mouthfeel on this one. Has a medium bodied but it's somewhat airy. Goes down really smoothly and leaves a nice coffee bitterness until the next swig.

Drinkability is good. I really enjoy a good stout but very rarely find the drinkability super high. That being said I can easily finish off this bomber but that'll be all.

This was a pleasant surprise. I expected something decent but this was a good well made complex stout. I wouldn't hesitate in picking this up again.
