Thanks to BigDaddyWill for the opportunity to try this rare beer. 12oz Grand Reserve bottle aged 27 months in oak, batch 65. I received this bottle in the summer of 2008.

The color is a faint cherry with some mahogany when held to the light. A few bubbles amassed on the top but they quickly fell back to form a ring around the glass.

Tart fruits and oak instantly, as soon as I started pouring. A lot of sweet and sour cherry, like a sour cherry fruit-roll up. Acetic, lemony, grapes, and a touch of leather in the background. Some nectarine, strawberry, green apples, and currants. Vanilla and flowers.

Medium oak intensity mid-palate, cherry, strawberry, blueberries, lemons, and a nice vinegar flavor to tie it all together. Oak tannic bitterness in the finish. Hints of vanilla and caramel. Tart, dry, and acetic finish. A little more lemon in the end as it warms up. Cranberry juice.

Medium body and carbonation, suits well for the beer. Very acetic, acidic and tannic in the finish, wow!
