Been hanging on to this one,. waiting for the "right day".

Pours a very dark, carmel looking brown. Rather syrupy on the pour, viscous. Small head, almond in color, dissipates rather quickly, little to no lacing. Cloudy in appearance... I'm into it...

Aroma is sweet and very malty. True to the style, the rye comes through nicely. Hint of vanilla, dark fruits (raisins). Slight spice, slight hops scent.

Very tasty. Mmmm, yum. Malty, absolutely can taste the rye, oak too. Raisins, cherries for fruit. Somewhat bready. Toffee, with a touch of vanilla. Taste follows the nose nicely. Slight hops bitterness. The rye notes are continuous, clear thru into the aftertaste, where it is accompanied by a hint of woodsy smoke. Very pleasant.

Medium body, slick and a bit syrupy. Carbonation is perfect, IMO, just noticeable, light tingle on the tongue.

This is very nice, enjoyable. The alcohol is well hidden, except for the warm feeling in the throat/chest, and not noticeable till I stood up... it sneaks up on 'ya. Perfect on a cold, blustery snowy day... think I will have another...
Highly recommended!!!
