Big thanks go out to bakes for this bottle.

Bottle #834, Released June 07

A - By the looks of the big dimple in the bottle cap here, they must be hand bottling these. Garnet colored body that is dark, but shows through in the light. Head starts about half an inch tall, but is now a skim across the top. Oatmeal colored and made up of small bubbles.

S - Big time vanilla here along with a light woodiness. Rye in more abundance than I think I have smelled in any beer before. There is a sweetness of red fruit to it, with fig and black cherry. Light hops mix in, but are fairly subdued. Alcohol is present with Rye Whiskey odors, but isn't overpowering.

T - Huge rye notes all over with this beer, which isn't a bad thing. The other flavors just sort of seem to swirl around the rye. Big sweetness up front with the black cherry that I picked up in the odor. There's some charred wood playing around in here, but I really don't get huge whisky. It's there, but light. Hazelnuts. Finishes spicy, with the flavor of black pepper. Pepper and rye continue into the aftertaste.

M - Medium bodied with fine carbonation that tickles the tongue a bit.

D - Very easy going down. In fact, dangerously easy to drink when you factor in this one weighing in at 9%. I like rye beers and this ranks towards the top of the ones I have tasted.
