Poured completely black into my pint glass. When held to the light there are mahogany highlights around the edges of the glass. A tan creamy head sat on top of the body that left sheet lacing. The cascade wasn't as good as I've seen from the cans or on tap. Still looks good though.

The first smell to hit is one of dark roasted grains. There is a creamy quality that mellows the roastiness. Ends with a rather strong smell of smoke. The smell isn't very complex but it all goes together pretty well.

Flavor is very much like the smell. Starts out with roasted malts. Bitter coffee grounds show up mid palate but are slowed by a milk creaminess. There is a mild coffee ground bitterness that finishes things off.

Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. Mild carbonation. My only complaint is it seems a bit too thin. The body could be a little creamier.

The thinner body lends itself nicely to the drinkability. Tastes good enough to have a couple. I think this tastes better on tap but it's a solid stout out of the bottle.

Now in a new plastic wrapped bottle with instructions at the bottom that state "serve extra cold". They must relly be trying to get to the masses with that and the cheesy bottle wrapping. Beyond that it's a pretty good easily found stout.
