Bottled 10/08/08.
A - Small head that is about a half inch tall. It's light whipped butter color and very sturdy. A eighth of an inch of foam stays around throughout. Body is clean and golden with a few bubbles slowly rising to the surface.
S - Earthy, herbal sort of spicy hops. Lightly bready sweet malt backs it up. Smells no different than a normal dortmunder lager really.
T - Starts off sweet, with sort of a corn syrup flavor. Spicy hops immediately follow the big malt sweetness. Hops turn more herbal and grassy, bringing with them a light bitterness that lasts through to the finish. A bit bready at the finish, then it's back to the hop bitterness in the aftertaste.
M - A little heavier than medium bodied. Sort of sticky. Carbonation is light, but good.
Overall - Decent enough beer, but not really what I would reach for very often. A little too sweet for my tastes, and seems to have the sweetness mix with the hops in a strange way.
