Pours a dark brown color with cola tinges around the edges. There is a finger of dark tan head over top, moderate carbonation bubbling up and decent clarity from what I can tell. Nice looking brew. The aroma is solid in roasted maltyness with modest chocolate and coffee in there. I'm not getting a whole lot in the way of hop in the nose. The flavor is more complex, with an initial roasty character moving to a slight chocolate charater and finishing with a kick form some pine hops that bring around a solid coffee note. This is a very good beer. Mouthfeel is moderate with a moderate carbonation. Overall, this is a beer that is always welcome in my fridge. It doesn't sit heavy, but has a ton of flavor. It is a winner.
