22 oz bottle thanks to the great kpruim. Thanks, fool. Served up in a 10oz snifter.

A: Pours up an incredibly dark brown color that is seemingly black. Held to the light, plenty of light pushes through and makes the color an almost dark burgundy. Fancy. Pour got me about half a finger of mocha colored head. It is loose and bubbly. Recedes to a tight ring that just adds contrast to the very dark body. That ring lasts the entire experience but the beer is too slick on the glass to allow any sticking for lace.

S: Simple and beautiful. Bourbon. Just fills the air with sweet, boozy bourbon. Caramel and toffee dominate. There is some woodiness to it. Does have a clear alcohol smell (only downfall in this department). Finishes roasty and lovely.

T: Bourbon is whats up here. Lots of toffee, and it works well. Rich caramel, dark and toasty. Brown sugar, maple syrup and a touch of bitter dark chocolate. Like the nose, it has that booziness to it but it doesn't kill anything in the flavor. Wood notes are nice and contributing. Light dark fruit flavors are on the back end with booze soaked dates, raisins. Finishes with a light note of roasty goodness.

M: Full bodied with a mild carbonation. Sweet on the palate and the palate is just coated with a sugary stickiness that just slowly melts away and allows all flavors to be known. ABV is boozy and brings some heat on the throat and light touch in the belly. Aftertaste is all caramel, toffee and roast.

OA: Very tasty. The bourbon is the star of the show here, but it is tempered well. Those flavors are allowed to be big enough to be explored, but it doesn't keep any other flavors from being able to be noticed. It has layers and just isn't all booze. Has big flavors and aromas but remains relatively easy to drink. Mouthfeel is just ridiculously spot on for the experience. Mighty fine beer and I couldn't have picked a better brew for my birthday.
