Pours 99% opaque and very dark brown into my glass, leaving a tan head and lace all the way down. Aroma is roast coffee, cocoa, slight alcohol and some faint caramel-toffee sweetness.

Starts with a mix of black coffee and some dark chocolate, with a silkiness in the first sip that's impressive. A rounded sweetness comes in mid-sip, like a shot of malt in the coffee, with a warming sensation that grows as you drink the brew. Finishes with a coffee-and-dark-chocolate-with-a-shot flavor that's truly impressive. Vague oats in the way back announce their presence subtly, but like a French horn in an orchestra you'd miss them if they weren't there. Mouthfeel's almost a 5 but not quite there - a little to sprightly for the style.

Overall a fine sitting around on a cold evening brew; and would likely make a great morning tee off warmer for the annual fall golf outings. Hmmm...
