Pours from a 22oz. bottle a medium amber red with a slight foamy beige head and has a very hoppy aroma. Unfortunately, the hops don’t follow through on the taste. Initial taste is some malt sweetness, some hops and a lot of bitter. Certainly, the bitter is very similar to an English ESB, but that is really the only similarity. On mid taste, you get a bit more hops, but the finish is bitter, bitter, bitter. Not a lot of pine or resin in this one, very little fruit, but lots of floral, bitterness (did I say it’s bitter?), and some slight sweetness but I’m almost tempted to say the sweet is the hops, not the malt. Not a bad beer.
