Reviewed from notes taken last Sunday, 06/03/07.
A - Pours a dark caramel brown color that is slightly opaque. Rich tan colored head made of varying sized bubbles. Decent retention and nice sticky lacing.
S - Huge deep sweetness with caramel and toffee taking the stage. Definitive oakiness with slightly charred wood and deep vanilla notes.
T - Much as expected from the smell, but with even more wood presence. Bourbon, charred wood and vanilla combine beautifully. Deep caramel and toffee envelope the tongue. Slightly bitter wash in the finish.
M - Medium to full bodied, slightly syrupy. Carbonation is light, but pleasant.
D - Great complex array of flavors displayed here that all blend together nicely. By far the best beer I have had from Firestone.
