A - Dark brown body that is opaque, letting absolutely no light through. Sort of a chocolately look to it. Big, light cocoa colored head that is about one and a half inches thick and made of mostly tight bubbles. Good to great retention with superb lacing.
S - Big robust nose with tons of different things going on. Dark fruits with plums, raisins and dates. Dark belgian candy sugar, brown sugar, and toffee sweetness. Some belgian spices and yeastiness going on here too.
T - Oh man, this might actually be better than the nose. Big and rich with layer upon layer of flavor. The belgian spices and yeast hit up front here. Dark candy sugar, toffee, molasses and brown sugar come in and provide a luscious sweetness. Dark fruits poke through as listed above, with raisins, dates, prunes. Spices come back at the end. Big malty sweet deliciousness.
M - Full bodied and smooth. Carbonation needs a swirl or two in the glass.
D - This is a wonderful beer as is, but I think that it could actually get better with another couple years. So glad that I got the chance to try it and really wish I had more. Thanks to Duckboy for the bottle.
