Received this brewski from my main man out in Philly land, gibby. I’m pumped to try this beer as I loves me some fruit beers. Drank from my Ithaca Excelsior tulip.

Appearance- Pours a light yellowish orange with a small half finger bright white head. Not really much of a cap remains but a thin collar and plenty of lacing abounds.
Smell- Sort of tart smelling with a WAY more Wild Ale smell than a Saison. Sour with a sort of a red wine vinegar like thing that is surprisingly tart. I would guess that there was fruit in this brew but never would I ever guess Guava. I’d honestly say cherries or raspberries. A bit of funk does come through as the beer warms and that farmhouse comes through. Some white pepper spice and even a hint of clove as well.
Taste- Whoa night and day with the smell and taste. It’s super funky and spicy and really tastes just like a regular ol’ Saison with just a touch of tart. Some horsey funk and a touch of green apple are the majority of the major flavors. Sure, a touch of banana and clove are present but nothing over the top. Maybe a touch of fruit in the finish as it warms but nothing much.
Mouthfeel- Medium to light body with a nice crisp zip of carbonation.
Drinkability- Really dug this one quite a bit. It’s got this light tart thing behind all the funk that I’m really loving. The beer is super drinkable and would make a great beer to steam some clams in. Thanks much Jeff!
