Pours a mostly clear amber brown color, a bit light for style but ok. A good pour with a limited head that needed some help. Ok retention and limited lacing.

The nose has a lot of phenols. To start there is a light malt character with some backend caramel notes. Some light nutty notes as well. The phenols come out strong. Some plums and a touch of raisins. Cherries and figs come out as well. Noticeable nail polish aromas and a bit of fusel alcohol notes as well. Some butyric with a odd woody aroma to it.

The taste is a bit more balanced but phenolics still really come out. The malt is more apparent versus the nose. More of a malty sweet essence and not much of a sugary finish. More of a nutty and hints of Vienna malt. Some raisin Some minor mineral notes leaves a dirty impression. The phenols are the same, plums raisin cherries and a funky wood thing going on. The fusels back off verses the nose. Some chalky notes in the aftertaste.

The body is moderate. A bit sweet with a somewhat under attenuated feel. Carbonation is a bit low for style but ok. Overall, a little disappointing. Some off notes and big phenolics really distract.
