From a hand bottled 22oz

A: Quite a cloudy brick colored brew with on overall easiness to it. The head is medium sized, yet creamy and serene…the color of milk.

S: Nice smelling beer here. Get a lot of watermelon candy, caramel, strawberry preserves, orange marmalade and cherry.

T: Begins buttery and smooth with a delicate maltiness to it. Really chewy dough flavors with shots of orange juice swirled through it. This is one of those malty dipa’s, like Yulesmith. And just like in the aroma, I get candy…you know that flavor all Jolly Ranchers have? That’s the one, and its here. There’s almost an herbal quality before the swallow, perhaps fern. After the swallow, the caramel and candy intensifies, bringing with it a solid wave of bitterness. Bitterness is complete across the palate but not overdone to the state of being distracting. Finishes mildly citrusy and quite pleasant. Get some old tangerine in a really good way.

M: Medium body with an ultra smooth mouthfeel.

D: What a great beer! Very drinkable, really good balance, nice aroma and a stellar mouthfeel. Malty DIPA’s aren’t usually my favorite style, but this one is working for me. If it was local to me, it would certainly enter my rotation.
