12 oz bottle I got in a four pack from Whole Foods I believe. Served up in a tulip.

A: Pours up a abysmal black color. Dark as hell and as expected. Held to the light, nothing gets through. The pour got me about two fingers of darker mocha colored head. The head has some nice stick to it, with quite a bit of chunky lace all over the place.

S: The smell has an almost wheat like presence to it at first. That Belgian yeast quality comes through with a fruitiness, but that wheat brings some banana like presence as well. Things turn to the stout ways with some cocoa powder and coffee.

T: Starts off first with the chocolate and sweet notes. Dark chocolate and cocoa powder come through first. Then there is a hearty grain note to it. This is kind of muddled, finding notes of rye, wheat, and oat. Very hearty. There is a dose of bright hops that hits you from time to time. There is some dark fruity quality, maybe fig and prune. Things round off with a heavy roasted coffee quality.

M: Full bodied with a light-medium carbonation. Has a mostly sweet and sticky texture to it. ABV is bringing some heat in the throat and all the way down. Aftertaste is all coffee and sweet chocolate notes.

OA: Very tasty. This is a big ass stout. The grain bill is a bit on the crazy side and it does muddle some things in the flavor department. With that said, it still remains tasty and interesting. It is a big ole stout and has a nice balance of sweet and bitterness.
