This one floored me. I'm an unabashed fan of that bitter tropical fruit, sauvignon/riesling flavor of the Nelson Sauvin hop, and also love rye in IPAs for the non-hop-spiciness that it brings to a beer. So I had high hopes... this one knocked it out of the park.

Pours a hazy apricot gold with a head that may be there next year. The aroma is of spicy, toasty malt and a serious grapefruit and mango marmalade hit.

Starts with a growing bitterness along with a deep, tropical fruit malt/hop combo that just... keeps... going. Mangoes, apricots, bitter orange, grapefruit, slight pine... all there over a very firm, just this side of tongueraking bitterness. But that's just half the story - the incredible depth and chewiness of the malt in this brew is amazing, especially at 7%; we're talking DIPA levels of mouthfeel. The finish is perfect... all of the flavors tapering off like the final notes from a well played symphony. Corny, yes, but damn true.

This one's in my pantheon of IPAs. And no way it'll leave. They did this hop up perfectly.
