Bottled June 2006.

A - Pours lighter than I expected. Hazy bright yellow. Soapy off white head is about one and a half inches and shows good lacing.

S - Big vanilla on the nose. Slight oak and a bit of bourbon. Belgian yeast and some candy sugar sweetness. Slightly buttery in back. Something a bit different lingering in back which has hints of possible wild yeast at play here.

T - Vanilla up front. Works into a oaky vanilla light bourbon flavor that covers the tongue. No one flavor overpowers another here. Very balanced. Yeastiness becomes aparent with some banana, which combines with some fruity sweetness. At the end there is a bit of a bite followed immediately by a buttery taste and a finish with a slight sour twang.

M - Medium to full bodied. Carbonation is nice and smooth.

D - Allagash's barrel aged beers continue to impress me. I typically am not a huge fan of tripels, but I really like this one.
