Color is solid black with a quarter inch head of tight bubbly foamed froth, dark caramel tannish in color with a slight pink tint which faded moderately to a thin haze on top and leaves curtains of lace that breaks up fast into spots and sticks somewhat. Smell is soft and fresh of dark chocolate and raspberries and notes of banana and dark citrusy hops. Taste is lovely of dark chocolate, partially sweetning, lightly tangy, smooth and mild, darkly toned a bit with the perfect smack of raspberry coating in the middle and finishing even better with more raspberry and dark fruit sweetness and mildly fruity dryness and a nice light earthy hop twingyness. Amazingly yummy and delicious! Feel is pretty full to medium and nearly heavy, starts easy, middle goes sweet, tart, smoothing into fruity tangyness and real nice creamyness throughout. An absolutely fantastic stout, highly recommend getting your hands on some.

A - Pours black body that doesn't allow any light to get through. Fizzy brown head on the pour has now collapsed to a puddle in the middle along with a ring around the glass.
S - Big raspberry puree boquet. Cocoa and a hint of vanilla. Raspberry is at the forefront big time here.
T - Raspberry isn't nearly as prevalent on the taste as it is on the nose. Starts off with a big baker's chocolate taste. Middle of the tongue gets the raspberry, but not nearly as strong as suggested by the smell. Finishes with a slight bitter wash. Small aftertaste of cocoa, but doesn't last long.
M - Medium bodied, not as heavy as your average imperial stout. Carbonation is fuzzy.
D - The lighter body does make this one easier to drink. Usually an Imperial Stout can last me a couple hours, but I don't see this one being around even half that time. Nice beer. Thanks to BA sponberg for the bottle.
